            Research of this laboratory starts in the year of 1990 when the Principal Investigator (Prof. J.K. Mandal) joined as Lecturer in the department of Computer Science & Application, University of North Bengal The first paper of this laboratory was published in the Journal of INSA at 1990.Since then the scholars of the laboratory actively engaged inresearch in various fields in computing systems. Being M.Sc. in Physics from Jadavpur University in 1986, M.Tech. in Computer Science from University of Calcutta, he was awarded PhD.(Engg.) in Computer Science & Engineering by Jadavpur University in 2000. Presently he is working as Professor of Computer Science & Engineering and former Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Management, Kalyani University, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal for two consecutive terms. He started his career as lecturer at NERIST, Arunachal Pradesh in Sept., 1988. He has teaching and research experience of 25 years. His area of research is Coding theory, Data and Network Security, Remote Sensing & GIS based Applications, Data Compression, Error correction,Visual Cryptography and steganography. He has produced 9 Ph. D degrees and 8 are ongoing. He has supervised 3 M. Phil and 26 M. Tech. Dissertation and more than 60 MCA projcts. He is life member of Computer Society of India since 1992, CRSI since 2009, ACM since 2012 and Fellow member of IETE since 2012, Executive member of CSI Kolkata Chapter. He has chaired 17 sessions in various International Conferences and delivered 20 expert/invited lectures. Attended 22 conferences and delivered 4×5 days expert lectures as guest faculty and organized 15 National & International Conferences during last three years. He is reviewer of various International Journals and Conferences, since 1994. He is chief editor of various National/International Journals of AIRCC, editors of various National/International Conferences and proceedings. He has published more than 255 articles out of which 91 articles in various National and International Journals. He has published 5 books from LAP Germany. He was awarded A.M. Bose Memorial Silver Medal for securing highest marks in the paper “Nuclear Physics and Cosmic Rays” in M.Sc. and Kali Prasanna Dasgupta Memorial Silver Medal for securing highest marks in the paper “Nuclear Physics and Cosmic Rays” in M.Sc. India International Friendship Society (IIFS), New Delhi conferred “Bharat Jyoti Award” for meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role in the field of Computer Science & Engineering on 29th August, 2012.                         One of the Major objective and activity of this Research Laboratory is the import qualitative and quantative knowledge to the scholars of the laboratories along side with then regular curriculum so that they can well equipped themselves before entering into the real world of implementation during the analysis design and then final semester project work.
