Research of this laboratory starts in the year of 1990 when the Principal Investigator (Prof. Jyotsna Kumar Mandal) joined as lecturer in the department of computer science & application, University of North Bengal. The first paper of this laboratory was published in the journal of INSA at 1990. Since then the scholars of the laboratory actively engaged in research in various fields in computing systems. He is, M. Tech. in computer science from University of Calcutta in 1987, awarded Ph. D (Engineering) in computer science & engineering by Jadavpur University in 2000. Presently working as professor of computer science & engineering, former Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Technology & Management, Kalyani University for two consecutive terms (2008-2012). Director, IQAC, Kalyani University and Chairman, CIRM, and Placement Cell. 30 years of teaching and research experience in coding theory, data and network security and authentication; remote sensing & GIS based applications, data compression, error correction, image processing, visual cryptography and steganography. Awarded 22 Ph. D. Degrees, one submitted and 8 are pursuing. Supervised 03 M. Phil, more than 60 M. Tech and more than 120 M.C.A dissertations. Chief editor of CSI Journal of Computing, Guest Editor of Micro System Technology Journal (SCI indexed) of Springer. Published more than 360 research articles out of which 156 articles in International Journals. Published 12 books from LAP Germany, IGI Global, Springer Nature etc. Organized 29 international conferences and corresponding editors of edited volumes and conference publications of Springer, IEEE, Elsevier etc. The promotion of Information Technology is the priory of professional activity through IETE and CSI.
